Junior on File Sharing
Is file-sharing illegal or not? There are
many company’s that have file-sharing access nowadays. There are numerous
amounts of companies such as BearShare, Kazza, Grokster, WinMix, Morpheus,
I Mesh, and many more. One company that was brought to trial pending a file
sharing case was Napster. Napster got sued because companies thought that
the filesharin g
thing was not good because it gave out exclusive songs from artists
that would be featured on their albums and they were also at a charge of
FREE! In government, nothing was really ever said about file sharing. It
wasn’t really an issue until major artists figured out that these file
sharing companies were making money off their music and not giving any proceeds
to them.
In a way, let’s think together, how would you feel if someone was taking your music from your cd and putting it on the net for a price of free? Countless court cases are going on right now and the record companies are slowly suing everyone for their part in file sharing. Nowadays if you go on Kazza, you will find now they are starting to crack down on this and put blocks on Kazza, so that your music will not function right. Record companies are starting to put bans on cds, so that you can't even put them on the net. For example the 50-cent cd won’t allow you to let people download it. To me, I think that file sharing should
be free to the public. Actually if you think about it, it gives promotions
to many artists cd’s and it puts your stuff on the net so many people
can get a taste of it. People really have to think about it. It can also
breakthrough an artist and make them have a lot of publicity. In the end
file sharing is a very unique thing and it should stay out there. |
